# My mission

**Draft for Ian to check (28 October 2026).** Written from his existing pages and notes. Still to confirm:

- Whether the purpose line still feels right
- The mission words are from your own list of August 2023, lightly tidied
- Whether to mention music and singing more

## To be a catalyst for transformation in people's lives

I hate it when things are made more complicated than they need to be. What I love most is the moment the light bulb comes on: when someone gets unstuck, understands something that seemed impossible, or finds the confidence to do the thing they were scared of.

That might be a team discovering that AI can take away the work they dread. It might be someone going live on video for the first time. It might be a leader finding the words to say what they really mean.

## What that means in practice

- **To bring joy**, in my own work and in other people's.
- **To encourage.** I believe in people, sometimes before they believe in themselves.
- **To go deep.** Real change comes from proper conversations, not quick tips.
- **To have fun.** Laughter helps people learn, and I'm allowed to be silly.
- **To build confidence** in the gifts people already have.
- **To foster creativity**, with technology as the tool, not the point.

## Why AI, why now

AI is the biggest change to how we work that I've seen. It can free people to be more creative, or it can make everything blander and more anxious. I want to help people get the first one: using AI with clarity and confidence, and keeping what makes us human at the centre.

## Where it comes from

I trained as a singer at the Royal Northern College of Music, and I've spent years helping people communicate, first on stage, then on social media and live video, and now with AI. The tools keep changing. The job doesn't: helping people be heard, and helping them grow.
